Food Pantry: Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Since March 2020, The Salvation Army in Chelsea has distributed millions of meals to our neighbors in need. If you or a loved one are struggling with food insecurity, our doors are open to all. Each week, our food pantry provides bread, produce, dairy, meat, frozen goods, and essential items. 

Kids' Club: Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The Salvation Army's Kids' Club is a licensed after-school program in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, we provide affordable quality programming for children aged 5-12. School-vacation and summer care is also available.

Christmas Assistance - 2021 Registration Information

If you live in Chelsea, East Boston, Revere, Everett, Charlestown or Winthrop, you may qualify to receive a food basket and Christmas toys for your children aged 12 years and under from The Salvation Army. Residents who live in the City of Boston (East Boston and Charlestown) receive gifts through our Boston Christmas Distribution. 

2021 Registration Dates:

Charlestown and East Boston:

Online only registration starting October 1, 2021

Everett, Revere, Winthrop and Chelsea:

In-person registration at 258 Chestnut Street, Chelsea. 

  • Monday, October 18 | 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Monday, October 25 | 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 26 | 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Monday, November 1 | 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Head of household must be present and bring the following information to register:

1) Valid photo ID
2) One OFFICIAL document with child's birthdate on it. (birth certificate, school record, passport, shot record, etc).
3) Proof of residency in our service area (ex. rent receipt)
4) Utility bill
