Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Salvation Army has decided to cancel the 2020 Summer Camp Season at Camp Wonderland. Our priority is the health and safety of our camp families and staff, and we believe that camp in the way that we know and love it is simply not possible this summer. As part of the state's response to the coronavirus outbreak, Governor Charlie Baker announced new orders Wednesday for childcare facilities in Massachusetts. Effective Sunday, March 22 at 11:59 p.m., all Salvation Army licensed childcare programs throughout the Commonwealth will be closed until further notice. We are blessed to provide some of our state’s most vulnerable children and families with the love and support they need, especially in times of uncertainty and crisis.While our childcare programs are suspended, our food pantries and feeding programs remain open to our neighbors when they need a helping hand. Please contact your local Corps with any questions.
Effective March 18, 2020, all new intakes at centers across Massachusetts are suspended until April 1, 2020. Additionally, donation pick-ups from homes and businesses are suspended until further notice. Pick-up from Salvation Army donation boxes will continue.

The Salvation Army Corps across Massachusetts continue to provide childcare services to low-income families who depend on us. Our licensed childcare facilities remain open on a regular schedule. We are maintaining frequent cleaning and health check protocols.
Neighbors who rely on our food pantries and feeding programs may continue to pick up distributions on a regular schedule. All food distribution items are prepackaged for your safety and must be picked up outside.
To focus on the health and well being of everyone in the communities that we serve, all Salvation Army congregate programs have been suspended through April 5, 2020. While we recognize that this is an inconvenience for many who rely on The Salvation Army, please know that we are praying that we may reopen programs sooner. We will continue to provide updates.
The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Service is regularly coordinating with key local and state agencies, including Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, the Department of Public Health, Food Banks, and other agencies. Ensuring the well being of those who depend on The Salvation Army’s programs and services, along with that of staff and volunteers, is our utmost priority. Additional protocols are being formed quickly should further restrictions be placed on our communities. Please contact your local Corps with any questions.
The Salvation Army Corps and Community Centers continue to function normally at this time. We are continuing to work closely with federal and state authorities, including the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, the Department of Public Health, Food Banks, Elder Affairs, and other agencies. This is both to support emergency response needs, as well as to ensure that we are following all protocols and are consistently providing updates to the Federal Emergency Management Agency on our National Preparedness & Response status. Ensuring the safety of those who depend on The Salvation Army’s programs and services, along with the safety of staff and volunteers, is our utmost priority. We are closely tracking progress through the Centers for Disease Control reporting and distributing prevention guidance to all staff, employees, volunteers, and program participants on proper hygiene/prevention.
