Thanksgiving Assistance:

Food baskets are provided to registered households. Registration begins in early October for Brookline and Boston residents. Chelsea/East Boston residents are assisted by the local Salvation Army unit in that city.
Households are to provide:

-Picture ID of head of household
-Utility bill or lease verifying the current address
-Birth certificates of household members
-Distribution is on the Saturday before Thanksgiving

Last year, we served over 1,200 families.

 

Christmas Assistance:

Food vouchers, brand new toys for children 14 and under, and winter coats are provided to registered households. Registration begins in early November. Distribution is the third week of December.
Households are to provide:
-Picture ID of head of household
-Current utility bill verifying address or lease
-Birth certificates of household members

Last year, we provided toys to over 6,100 children, winter coats to over 4,000 families, and $110,000 in food vouchers to local grocery stores. Overall, over 17,000 individuals and families were served last year.
