Young Joey was grinning from ear to ear. He just couldn’t believe it — a whole pack of socks? Just for him?

Joey

Joey was attending an after-school program at The Salvation Army. That’s when one of our volunteers noticed he wasn’t wearing any socks with his shoes. When the volunteer asked Joey about it, he shrugged and said, “I don’t have any socks. I only get socks when I stay at my grandma’s.”

The volunteer found a recently donated pack of white socks, and gave them to the boy. He skipped back to class, elated. And his feet haven’t been bare since.

Every day, children in need like Joey have their most basic needs met at The Salvation Army. Together, we’re making their lives better. Thank you.
